Definition

As demonstrated in the Heat maps post, Tableau users tend to create a hybrid of Heat maps and Highlight tables. This post will focus on the pure “Show Me” definition of the chart type – data encoded by colour and text.

Example workbooks

Highlight tables are not generally published in their standard state. The trend is more manually created “Heat maps” which combine element of Highlight tables and Heat maps. As ever, if a good example of a default Highlight table is brought to my attention, I’ll readily include it.
